Four of a Kind - Fringe 2007

Intimate L'Étage Cabaret is the sumptuous setting for this smorgasbord of absurdist appetizers: an early Pinter comedy, ferocious hijinks à la Ionesco, a 121-word dramaticule from Beckett, and Christopher Durang's gleefully disturbing
send-up of The Glass Menagerie.

Seating is limited.

CITY PAPER REVIEW

PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER REVIEW

CAST

Brian Adoff recently moved back to his hometown of Philly from Chicago where he worked and lived for the past three years. He has trained with Julie Garfield at the T. Schreiber studio in NY, and at Second City, Victory Gardens Theatre, and with Ed Hooks in Chicago. Also in Chicago, Brian worked and trained in physical theatre and clowning with Redmoon Theatre, Collaboraction Theatre, and Czech physical theatre company Teatro Novoga Fronta. Aside from his stage work, Brian has appeared in numerous commercials, industrials, and short films. This year, Brian was seen in Eugene Ionesco's Victims of Duty with the IRC, Back to the Boulevard with Theatre Ariel, and a short film entitled Three AM that was screened as part of the Philadelphia Film Festival.

Liam Castellan (Fibbs - Trouble in the Works, Durand - Foursome) has been absurd all his life, and is pleased to finally put it to some use. He has performed with Hedgerow Theatre, as well as three shows this past season with Curio Theatre Company. As a director, he has worked with Curio, Hedgerow, and the Philadelphia Dramatists Center. In his spare time he gives tours at Eastern State Penitentiary and lies to doctors. This spring, he is absolutely thrilled to direct Joe Orton's "What the Butler Saw" on Curio's mainstage.

Tim Gross (Tom - For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls) makes his debut with the Idiopathic Ridiculopathy Consortium. Recent credits include: The Game of Love and Chance, The Taming of the Shrew, Othello, Cinderella, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona. A company member and writer for the sketch comedy group Fun with Eggs, Tim is excited to explore the absurd with the IRC. Later this fall, Tim will appear in Simpatico Theatre Project's The Why by Victor Kaufold. Special thanks to Mom, the folks running the IRC, and the cast and crew. Jefferson Haynes (Wills - Trouble in the Works) is excited to be working on his first production with the Theatre of the Absurd. Thanks to Tina for allowing him this opportunity. Other Philadelphia credits include R & G are Dead (Arden), An Artist's Workshop (Azuka), American Sublime (InterAct), Incoming and Postcoital Variations (both with Philadelphia Theatre Workshop). Thanks to Courtney and Simba for their love and support.

Jessica Marcus (Vi - Come and Go, Ginny - For Whom the Southern Belle Tolls) is very happy to be part of the show! She detests writing in the third person but knows that it is the standard. She has an MFA in acting from Cal Arts, and also a cat. She plays music whenever possible, especially as part of the Oubliette ensemble (check us out!). Love and eternal thanks to D.Kurt Runco is a writer and performer in Philly's award-winning sketch comedy troupe, "The Waitstaff" (www.thewaitstaff.com). He has worked with Arden Theatre Company, Azuka Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre and many others. Favorite shows include Eternal Spiral Project's Miss Julie and Vagabond Acting Troupe's The Crucible. He also co-wrote and performed in the 2001 Philadelphia Fringe Festival sleeper hit, "Brinksmanship!"
Bob Schmidt (Dupont - Foursome) most recently appeared in Victims of Duty in March and Three One Acts! during last year's Fringe, both with IRC. Other notable work includes: Samuel Beckett's Endgame for Hunger Theatre; Tina Brock's The White Hoe Returns: Breaking New Wind; and Skewed Shakespeare and Chekhovmania for Random Acts of Theater. Many, many thanks to Tina for keeping the Absurdist fire burning, a very talented cast and a truly dedicated crew.
